2013, Shows, Website, Bands, SPIN

Happy belated New Year to you all! 2013 is going to be very exciting. I have a lot of stuff planned, in the works, and far off on horizon. First off: I recently joined a new band. Late last year, I signed on as the drummer for DC's Deleted Scenes. I've been working with them, rehearsing old songs, and writing new songs. My first shows with the band will be at the end of the month. We'll be recording a record at Miner Street Studios in Philadelphia in March, to be released in the fall of 2013. I think a lot of touring will happen as well.  You can check the band out here.

I have a lot a few shows coming up this weekend with The Sea Around Us in Philadelphia and New York. Many Arms will be playing at the Stone in New York on march 8th. For a complete list of shows, please check out my shows page.

In case you missed it, Many Arms' self-titled record released on Tzadik this year has made SPIN's top 20 Avant Albums of 2012. This is totally unexpected and the three of us in the group are floored by this news. We've found ourselves in very good company on this list. Please check it out!

Many Arms mini-tour, RL3, Adventuredrum Summer shows

Many Arms is heading up to Canada to play a few shows, among them the Suoni Per Il Popolo festival in Montreal. It's pretty exciting business. I played at that festival a few years ago with Joe Lally and it was a great time and a good hang. I love Montreal. I'm excited to go back. Check out the dates.

I posted a few other shows coming up. You'll be able to hear my own trio music at the Highwire with the pragmatically named RL3. There's also going to be another ADVENTUREDRUM at the end of August. Stay tuned for details!

Recent Videos

I had two gigs earlier this week that happened to get caught on videos. The first one was from Monday night. Nick Millevoi and I did a duo opening for our friends Forget the Times from Kalamazoo, MI. While we've played a lot together in Many Arms, we've only played duo for small spans of time within a Many Arms set. This was the first set we've done completely as a duo, something you might see more of in the future:

The next video was from an Extreme Fishkin set at the Troc Balcony. That's Travis Woodson and me going at it. Click here to see it!

Paiste

So, I recently signed up with Paiste cymbals. This is very exciting news for me since tt's my first endorsement. Everyone at Paiste has been super welcoming and helpful. I'm glad to be on board! Check me out their website. Cheers!

New Shows Posted / Many Arms Tour and Record

I've posted up-coming shows, up to and including Many Arms' spring tour. Check it out: click on the shows tab.

I'm pretty excited about what's on that list. Lagomasino/Fishkin will be making a rare appearance at this year's Two-Piece Fest at the Rotunda. Our set is only 15 minutes long, so it won't be the long haul that it usually is, but that could also mean it'll be that much more intense. On March 2nd I'm taking part in Chris Powell's Adventuredrum at the Art Museum, a free-form piece written for many drum sets and other participants. I'm very excited to take part. Later that same night I'm playing with The Sea Around Us at the Level Room. Also in March, I'm playing a set with Larry Toft's Life Nektar Ensemble at the Moonstone Art Center. Finally I'll be playing at Matt Stein's new monthly series at the Greenline with my trio, featuring Matt on the bass and Al Ens from Tongue Sculptors on guitar. And hey, Many Arms' spring tour dates are up!

For those of you who don't know:  Many Arms is releasing its third full-length out on Tzadik Records this spring. It's something that's thrilling for all of us. We've been making music and touring for a few years now, so this I think this is a great step forward. We have plans to tour the US and Europe shortly after the records' release date. Dates can be seen here.
